FMS Asia Training-Vietnam November 2014
FMS conducted a traing & technical session in the lovely Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam. Hosted superbly by ANS Vietnam much knowledge was imparted and many friendships were made. After being welcomed to Vietnam by ANS we spent the next 2 days of training expanding our knowledge of the FMS range and potential markets in bothe tension control and web guiding. One exciting highlight was the new RTM X42 system video which can be viewed on our FMS page here -under tension & RTM , this exciting system allows for superior tension control on cable & wire stranding machines without the need fro slip rings by using radio transmission to send and receive force measuring data.
CGB would like to extend a big thank you to FMS and ANS for hositing a succesful event.

CGB Trade Shows Wrap Up
CGB has had a busy few months with three trade shows in a row!
Avalon Airshow: Another fantastic time at the Avalon Airshow. The first couple of days prior to opening saw flash flood rains and our stand was lucky to survive the deluge. In true Melbourne style we saw a turn in the weather and the sun shone through for the opening. Throughout the event the CGB stand had many visitors interested in our products and saw the potential solutions and advantages that they can offer both in civilian and government applciations. One of our major highlights was the Lightspeed F1 in schools team visit to our stand.
Phillip Island Historic Race: Another superb weekend of sunshine, Melbourne can really put the weather on when it wants to. On display was our range of high precision Motor Sport Rod Ends & Spherical Bearings from FLURO and FK. We discussed many vehicle setups and applications in between the sounds of high perfomance engines.
National Manufacturing Week: A quick breath was taken and then it was all on again for NMW2013 at Melbourne Conventions Centre. The event was an opportunity for us to promote new products from our suppliers
- FLURO: New Fluroglide high performance PTFE liner system for their Industrial Rod Ends & Spherical Bearings. More Information
- Kamatics: KAMTough Wear Strip-self lubricating bearing material engineered to provide exceptional wear and abrasion resistance. More Information

CGB Celebrating 40 years Serving Australian Industry
In 2013 we celebrate 40 years in serving the many areas of Australian industry including aerospace/airlines, defence, medical, machine tool, wire and paper manufacturing, marine etc.
CGB Precision Products Pty Ltd was first registered as a business on October 3, 1973 by Colin and Brenda Gaskell at first operating from their house in Beaumaris to represent the Barden Corporation-manufacturer of high precision instrument and machine tool bearings. In 1976 as business expanded and additional products were added CGB moved to offices located at Station Rd Cheltenham. The addition of the Barden range of linear bearings and shafting meant that the shafting stock was housed in a second location. In 1981 a factory/office was built at the current address in Voltri St Mentone to put all operations under one roof.
With the passing away of Brenda in 2006 Colin retired and the business was sold to the current owners Bill and Marily Lingard.
CGB`s range of products have expanded over the years with the emphasis on `precision, quality and leading technology` to include products for wire and paper manufacturing, printing, automotive applications, medical and dental equipment.

CGB Trade Stand at `Big Bad Sandown` Historic Racing Nov 2012
First of all we would like to thank everyone who visited the CGB stand over the weekend and we look forward to working with you on your projects and applications.
We attended on Friday to do a `dry` setup of the stand making sure we had everything we required. Once that was sorted, the rest of the afternoon was spent catching up with friends and customers in the paddock setting up for the weekend. Friday night saw significant rain and there were concern that this would be what the weekend had in store for Sandown.
Saturday morning saw the sun shining through the clouds thus sunscreen, hats and sunglasses were essential for a comfortable experience. We had a busy day with a number of enquiries and new friendships were made.
Sunday took another step up in weather conditions and produced a day worthy of shorts-perfect conditions for racing, however the wind picked up today and the eye attracting pull up banner had to be brought inside the stand. Suggestions were made that flags would be more wind resistant for outdoor settings. Again another busy day for us on the stand. Hope to see you all next year at Phillip Island.
CGB at National Manufacturing Week 2012- Sydney
CGB would like to thank all the visitors to our stand at NMW 2012. Set within the Sydney Show Grounds at Sydney Olympic Park the NMW ran from Tuesday to Friday and saw visitors from a range of sectors.
From the CGB office Michael and Marilyn were in attendance to showcase our impressive range of products, on board to lend a hand was Stuart Goates from Kaydon, thank you Stuart for you help and support.
Jells Park Primary School RACV Energy Breakthrough 2012
Last year was a busy year. Our HPV (Human Powered Vehicle) team competed in 3 events. Maroondah Grand Prix (August 2011) where we finished second, Maryborough (November 2011) where we finished 21st our of 77 teams and Wonthaggi (March 2012) where we finished 3rd. All in all a good year.
This will be a very exciting year. We have been allocated some money from the school and we have purchased a brand HPV-a Speedy 08 trike with fairing. This means that we will be entering 2 t3eams.
28 students will be involved in the 3 teams consisting of 2 HPV`s and 1 Pushcart. The students are training twice a week with a personal fitness trainer (one of the parents). Our carts have proven they can go the distance mechanically wise so we are hoping that fitter students will mean improved times.
For 2012 we have changes out team name to Jells Park Shazzam!
The RACB Energy Breakthrough program encourages participants to examine and use the latest technology while considering its impact on the environment and the way people live locally and globally.
School groups work throughout the year to design, build and test their vehicle within detailed specifications. It requires a team effort and an across-the-curriculum approach. .
This is an exciting opportunity for the children to develop their team building and creative thinking skills.

University's 2008 SAE Formula Challenge
CGB is again proud to sponsor Deakin University's 2008 SAE Formula Challenge.
Formula SAE is for students to conceive, design, fabricate and compete with small formula-style racing cars. The purpose of the competition is for the students to assume that a manufacturing firm has engaged them to produce a prototype car complete with marketing and manufacturing plan.
This is the sixth year CGB has provided sponsorship by supplying FLURO rod ends and spherical bearings for all suspension components.
Good luck from the staff and management at CGB..
